Kota Tinggi Waterfall

The Kota Tinggi park was made famous by the river and the waterfall. It is the focal point of the day's outing. This is one waterfall that is southernmost and near to urban Singapore. The Kota Tinggi Waterfall is located 62km away from Johor Bahru, and 16km away from Kota Tinggi. One of Johor's noted natural attraction, it is a great favorite among the locals.Originating from the top of Gunung Panti, the waterfall cascades down a rock face some 34 metres into a small pool below.

Over the years and growing demands, the Park area was upgraded continuously. To us northerners, we could hardly recognize the place as a forest park. It is as crowded and developed as any theme park that we see in urban Kuala Lumpur.

The area of the park itself is relatively small by our standard. It has a gigantic car park, almost half the area of the park. From the car park to the main waterfall area, is a beeline line along the bank of the river. This walking distance is approximately a kilometer.

All the way paved. Going in, on the left, the food outlets and stalls. Then on the right, the river itself. There are railings along the banks and the river itself is kept free of rubbish. Picnickers would be on a lookout for any empty spaces in the river. Places where the water is flowing, plant them selves there and enjoy great outdoor nature in that spot. The depth of water in the stream is hardly more than half meter in any spot.

This is a good place to bring your children out for the weekends. More appropriate for most urban family who could not find time for more exotic destination. If you have any plans of having picnic, just have something very simple munches.
